Eifert went from the top of the league in the opening weeks to the bottom of the barrel this week. Many owners made the mistake of starting Eifert this week and expecting another big game. Eifert has literally seen his production cut each week as the opposing defenses have figured him out.
Sell
If you made the mistake of holding him for too long it looks like your time is up. Eifert scored 0 this week. Goose eggs usually tend to make owners avoid a player for multiple reasons and in Eifert’s case he was not a big name prior to this. Eifert’s value has significantly reduced and now you will likely not get a whole lot for him. Eifert will play 3 top defenses in the next few weeks, if possible unload him now if you can get some value for him. Week 4 the Bengals battle with the Chiefs which will likely see Eifert’s production slowed again. Week 5 Eifert faces Seattle and week 6 he goes on the road into Buffalo. If Eifert can not perform in these games (I do not expect him too) then his value will be reset to his preseason value of 0.
Week 3 Woes
I intentionally waited until after the Bengals game to see if Eifert would be efficient or once again see his stats slowly go down the drain. The Bengals offense played well as a whole but AJ Green really stole the show leaving Eifert in the dust. Eifert saw a few targets this week but nothing substantial enough for him to be considered a top tier tight end or a focal point of the Bengals offense. Sell Eifert before he loses all of his value because weeks 4-6 will likely be tough times for Eifert.
