Dez Bryant went down last week with a foot injury and is likely going to be out for most of the fantasy season. The Cowboys second string wide receiver Terrance Williams will now try to lead the Cowboys receivers for the foreseeable future.

Week 2 Dallas will take on their NFC East rival the Philadelphia Eagles. Anyone that watched the Eagles-Falcons game in week 1 saw that Philadelphia struggles with pass defense. Julio Jones absolutely torched the Eagles defense and had Dez Bryant been healthy I believe he would have done the same. Dez is not healthy, the new Cowboys top target is Terrance Williams and everyone needs to be targeting him and make him their favorite pickup this week. Last season even with Dez in play, Terrance Williams found the endzone 8 times. This week against Philadelphia I could see Williams getting into the endzone at least once if not twice. Williams is a very talented wide receiver and now that he is the top target, he will only get better. Williams will not be Dez Bryant but he is certainly capable of scoring decent fantasy points. I personally added Williams to my roster and plugged him in at my flex for this week. Williams has a high ceiling and the only one that can stop him is Dez Bryant’s foot.
Dez Bryant Impact
Terrence Williams was an end zone threat last season while Dez was on the field. His one true weakness was his failure to accumulate yards. Now with Dez on the sidelines, it paves the way for Williams to accumulate new all time highs in yards and possibly get 10 touchdowns. I am not trying to be a Williams hype man but with him becoming the #1 receiver in a high powered offense, it is hard to pick against him. I have recently been targeting Williams in daily fantasy leagues simply because he is a lower cost than the top receivers and has the potential to be one of the best.
Verdict
If Williams is still a free agent in your league I recommend picking him up. Williams is more likely than not going to have a great week 2 against the dismal Eagles pass defense. Williams has a high ceiling and if Dez stays on the sidelines for the expected 8 weeks, Williams could easily be a top 10 receiver in the NFL. Overall, picking up Terrence WIlliams is a great idea, he gives wide receiver 1 potential for wide receiver 2 price. Look to target Williams no matter what type of league you play in.
